Who We Are

Defi Biolabs is a registered LLC in the state of Wisconsin. It is composed of  a group of recent PhD graduates from the University of Wisconsin - Madison who are looking to develop novel blue carbon capture technology using native algae species to sequester CO2 from the atmosphere.

Defi Biolabs is  a registered team competing in the X-prize for carbon removal funded by Elon Musk and aims to sequester 1000 tonnes/year in CO2 with our algae farms. Together we look to apply genetics, genomics, microbiology, and metabolomics to create  environmentally optimized and protected algae ecosystems for blue carbon capture technology
